KANAWHA COUNTY, WV. (THECOUNT) — Lisa Buckley, of Cedar Grove, West Virginia, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle in Cedar Grove Friday morning.

Buckley, 41, was hit and killed by a vehicle early Friday morning, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim was on-foot with another individual on Kellys Creek Road near Cedar Grove around 5 a.m. when Buckley was struck by a pickup truck.

The driver remained on scene and cooperated with officials.

No charges were filed and no one was cited at the scene.

“The driver was not under suspicion of being DUI, not under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” said Sgt. B. D. Humphreys. “They did test for that out of abundance of caution, but there was no evidence to support that whatsoever,” reports WSAZ.

The second person walking was uninjured.
