PEORIA, IL. (THECOUNT) — Sean Gillen, assistant football and track coach at Notre Dame High School, remains in a medically-induced coma Wednesday, school officials confirmed.
According to reports, Gillen suffered a heart attack Monday night after a workout at his gym.
A pair of Notre Dame students were at the gym and called emergency medics to the scene, reports CentralIllinoisProud.
Gillen was the head football coach in 2016 and 2017 before returning to his role as an assistant coach last year.
He has been on the Notre Dame staff for seven seasons.
