LANCASTER COUNTY, PA. (THECOUNT) — Andrew C. Darling, of Latrobe, PA, has been identified as the man killed in a crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Thursday morning.
Darling, 27, was operating a tractor-trailer when he was involved in an accident that occurred before 10 a.m. on I-76 in West Cocalico Township.
For unknown reasons, Darling’s truck crossed centerlines and traveled on the side of the road for a stretch before coming to rest in a shallow embankment, lying on its passenger side.
The truck struck several trees at the bottom of the embankment, reports Fox43.
Darling was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The investigation into the cause of the crash remains open.
