‘Boyz n the Hood’ Actor Dies In California Says Son

PALMDALE, CA. (THECOUNT) — Jessie Lawrence Ferguson, the actor who played the a bad cop in “Boyz n the Hood,” has passed away, according to his son, Jace.

Jace told gossip outlet TMZ, his dad died Friday night at their home in Palmdale, California. He was 76.

Jace says he found his dad next to his bed with the TV on, and it comes as a shock because he was spry and seemed healthy in the days leading up to his death, reports TMZ.

Jace says, “He was a strong, beautiful intelligent black man and he wanted the best for his son and all people.”

Law enforcement officials say Ferguson died of natural causes.

An exact cause of death was not provided.
