PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, MD. (THECOUNT) — Shamika Brown, of Clinton, Maryland, has been identified as the victim killed in a five-vehicle crash involving a school bus and a semi-trailer Wednesday morning.
Brown, 32, was operating a vehicle when she was killed around 6:30 a.m. following a multi-vehicle crash on Surratts Road at Branch Avenue on Wednesday.
Investigators believe the tractor-trailer was heading southbound on Branch Avenue while the school bus and the five other vehicles involved in the crash were on Surratts Road. They say the tractor trailer drove through a red light – triggering the chain reaction crash, according to Fox5DC.
The bus driver and two other passengers suffered injuries that police believe are not life threatening.
Two drivers in the other vehicles were also hurt.
Investigators are trying to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the crash.
It is unclear if anyone with facing charges in the fatal wreck.
