VIRGINIA CITY, NV. (THECOUNT) — Police are investigating after a mystery explosion ripped through The Delta Saloon in Virginia City on Tuesday forcing the establishment to close as well as portions of B & C Streets.
Luckily the incident occurred before 9 a.m. on Tuesday, when the building was occupied by one man who reportedly escaped with only minor injuries.
The blast ripped the front of the building off and shattered nearby windows causing major damage to the front of the building on 18 S C Street, and the back of the building on B Street in Virginia City.
Authorities say they believe the explosion was suspicious and are now waiting for the fire marshal to determine the cause of the explosion, reports KTVN.
The popular watering hole will likely remain closed for the foreseeable future until extensive damage can be repaired and gas and electricity restored.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with possible information on the incident should contact police at 911.
