ANTIOCH, TN. (THECOUNT) — Zanee Newsome has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle in Antioch, Tennessee on Sunday night.
Newsome, 23, died while on-foot after being struck by a car on Sunday night crossing Rural Hill Road after 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
The victim was walking in an area that is not well lit and does not have sidewalks or shoulders when she was fatally struck by a 2016 Dodge Dart, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Newsome was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Authorities said they do not anticipate filing charges against the driver, identified as 31-year-old Laquisha Smith.
Investigators did not find any evidence of alcohol involvement in the crash, according to WSMV.
