SPOKANE, WA. (THECOUNT) — Jaydin Ledford, the man previously arrested for making online threats against Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich, has been officially indicted in federal court on Friday.
Apparently upset about Knezovich opposition to the passage of a new gun control bill, Ledford said on Facebook in February 2019, “I-1639 is law, sheriffs that are non compliant will be shot. by me.”
Ledford again threatened Knezovich in online posts specifically referencing comments he made about the gun rights law that was passed by voters last fall.
According to agents, Ledford wrote “Ozzie Knezovich is gonna get a bullet in his skull.”
Agents say after Ledford was arrested at his home in Omak last month, he admitted making the threats and reportedly said Knezovich should be afraid for his life.
He was originally arrested on charges of making threats in interstate communications, reports KXLY.
He was taken into custody at his Omak, Washington home on Feb. 20 by Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Sheriff Tony Hawley told Newsweek. He was subsequently charged with harassment before being turned over to federal custody and booked into Spokane County Jail.
The indictment this week charges him with that, along with cyberstalking.
A judge ordered that Ledford not be allowed bail and he’ll be held in jail until his trial, which is currently set for May.
