CHICAGO, IL. (THECOUNT) — Christopher Morrison, the Chicago police officer injured in an off-duty vehicle crash on the Eisenhower Expressway, has sadly passed away Friday in a hospital as a result of injuries he suffered on Sunday.
Morrison, 32, was operating a vehicle traveling on Interstate 290 near S Kedzie Ave, in Chicago, IL, around around 11:45 p.m. Sunday, when for unknown reasons, crashed into a concrete wall.
Morrison suffered a broken neck and two broken legs in the crash.
He was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Police announced Friday that Morrison has died of his injuries.
Morrison joined the Chicago Police Department in April of 2017. He worked out of the 8th District, Chicago Lawn, reports WGNTV.
