TX Man Desmond Arnez Nixon ID’d As Victim Found Shot Dead In Beaumont Wednesday

BEAUMONT, TX. (THECOUNT) — Desmond Arnez Nixon has been identified as the victim found shot in the 5800 block of Picadilly Lane in Beaumont, Texas, Wednesday night according to police.

Nixon, 35, was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound around 11:50 p.m. after officers responded to the area on a call of shots fired, according to a Beaumont Police Department news release.

Nixon was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

Anyone with possible information on the deadly incident should contact police immediately at 911.

On Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 11:51 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to the 5800 block of Picadilly Lane in reference to a victim of a shooting.

When Officers arrived they found the victim, identified as Desmond Nixon (35 year old Beaumont resident), suffering from gunshot wounds.

Beaumont EMS transported Nixon to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

BPD Detectives are following multiple leads and are asking anyone with information to call Beaumont Police at 409-832-1234 or Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS (8477).

Detectives are also asking anyone who lives in the area of the 5800 block of Picadilly [sic] to check their home security and doorbell cameras between the hours of 11:00 pm last night (2-27-19) and 12:30 a.m. (2-28-19) for any unusual behavior/traffic that may assist with the homicide investigation. source

In 2015, Nixon, then 31, had two Murder warrants issued for his suspected involvement in a May shooting at Magnolia Park, in Beaumont. It is unclear what became of that 2015 case.
