CHARLESTON, SC. (THECOUNT) — Mark Stephen Scott has been identified as the human remains discovered on Savannah Highway in West Ashley, South Carolina, last Friday
Scott, 52, was reported missing from the 300 block of Howle Avenue, in West Ashley in late May 2018, according to deputy coroner Anita Hasert.
Deputies say Scott texted an acquaintance to let her know his dog and vehicle were at an address in the 2200 block of South Dallerton Circle in West Ashley, reports Live5News.
Officials said the victim’s wallet was left at the home, deputies say. It’s not clear how Scott left the area and Charleston police are continuing to investigate.
