NEOSHO, MO. (THECOUNT) — Keith Hopper, of Granby, Missouri, has been identified as the victim killed while on horseback Sunday.

Hopper, 49, was operating a horse on MO-86, east of Neosho, MO, when he and the animal were struck by a pickup truck also traveling on the southwest Missouri highway.

The Highway Patrol says, Hopper was struck by a pickup truck Sunday night while he was riding the horse on Missouri 86 about 5 miles (8 kilometers) east of Neosho, reports Fox2Now.

Hopper was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

The condition of “Chester” the horse, or the unidentified driver of the pickup truck, was not provided in the crash report.

It is unclear if anyone was cited at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
