MONTGOMERY COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — James Patrick Edwards, of Elliston, Virginia, has been identified as the victim after a tractor-trailer collided with a passenger car on U.S. 460 Thursday, according to reports.
Edwards, 29, was killed in a crash involving a UPS tractor trailer around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday while traveling on Lee Highway in Elliston.
The driver of the UPS tractor-trailer was not injured, reports WDBJ7.
The victim’s vehicle collided with the 18-wheeler UPS truck, causing the passenger vehicle to be pinned underneath the truck.
No one was cited in the crash and there are no charges pending, according to officials.
Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force injuries suffered in the crash.

Elliston is a census-designated place in Montgomery County, Virginia, United States. It lies between the city of Roanoke and the town of Christiansburg in the southwestern part of the state. The population as of the 2010 Census was 902, according to Wikipedia.
