ROXBURY, ME. (THECOUNT) — Gregory Simmons, of Andover, Maine, has been identified as the victim of a fatal snowmobile accident in Roxbury, a town in Oxford County, Maine, on Thursday night.
Simmons, 47, was involved in a deadly snowmobile crash Thursday in the Oxford County town of Roxbury, according to the Maine Warden Service.
An area snowmobiler discovered Simmons’s crashed four-wheeler at about 9 p.m., Maine game wardens said.
Reports say, Simmons was killed after he lost control of his snowmobile on Interconnecting Trail System 84 and was thrown from the vehicle, WMTW reports.
Wardens said they believe Simmons had been at a local restaurant having dinner and was riding his snowmobile home when the crash occurred.
Speed appears to be a factor in the crash, officials noted in a report.
The Warden Service said this was the second deadly snowmobile crash this season.
