FRAZEYSBURG, OH. (THECOUNT) — Roderick “Rick” Walcott, of Frazeysburg, Ohio, has been identified as the pedestrian struck by multiple vehicles while on Ohio 16 Monday morning.
Walcott, 44, was traveling on Ohio-16 around 6:45 a.m. when he exited his vehicle and was struck by a utility truck traveling westbound.
The truck continued westbound, according to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
A second vehicle, a Honda Insight, then struck Walcott as he was laying in the roadway.
Walcott was later pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
At 2:30 p.m. the same day, Ohio State Highway Patrol investigators located the first vehicle, a 2018 Freightliner utility truck owner by Thayer Power Communication Line of Reynoldsburg, near Grove City. The driver, 30-year-old Jordan Kirk of West Lafayette was interviewed, according to the press release. source
The crash remains under investigation.
