MONTGOMERY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Lana Herbert, of Montgomery, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a murder and attempted suicide Wednesday in downtown Montgomery.
Investigators say, Herbert, 58, and an unidentified male were both found suffering from at least one gunshot wound Wednesday around 6.p.m. in the 100 block of Commerce Street, near The Legacy Museum in Montgomery.
Police say they have determined preliminary that the male, who was transported to the hospital with gunshot injuries, shot Herbert then turned the gun on himself.
The incident is being investigated as a domestic-related homicide. No prior filings were found on record for protection orders or anything filed by Herbert.
The man is currently at an area hospital being treated for a life-threatening gunshot wound.
Charges are pending against him.
Despite being investigated as a domestic-related homicide, a check of court filings returned no results regarding protection orders or any other filings for Herbert. source
