QUEENSLAND, AU. (THECOUNT) — Malcolm and Esme Beck have been identified as the Cairns couple struck and killed by a car in a Christmas Eve in Mysterton.
The Becks, aged mid-70s, were struck by a blue Mazda SUB as they crossed Ross River Rd at Mysterton, about 7.10 p.m. after departing a neighborhood Christmas Eve church service.
The couple’s daughter reportedly witnessed the accident and watched in horror as a blue SUV hit her parents, killing them instantly.
Police said the couple had come all the way from Cairns to visit their daughter for the holiday season.
Despite their efforts, first responders were unable to revive the couple.
The driver of the Mazda was tested for drugs and alcohol but he returned a negative reading.
His vehicle was seized by police as part of a forensic crash unit investigation. source
