PUEBLA. MX. (THECOUNT) — Martha Erika Alonso, Mexican governor and her husband, a federal senator, died in a helicopter crash on Monday, according to multiple reports.

A helicopter holding Alonso, the new governor of Puebla state and her husband, Mexican Senator Rafael Moreno, came down near the state capital of Puebla, Reuters reported, citing a local newspaper.
