OMAHA, NE. (THECOUNT) — Jose Gonzalez is accused of running his wife over with his truck as she clung to their 14-month-old child.

Gonzalez, 32, ran his wife over with his pickup truck following an argument at the couple’s Omaha home Thursday.

Reports say, police responded to an Omaha QuikTrip store near 60th & L St SW, in Omaha, NE, after an employee called and said a woman had locked herself and three children in a store bathroom area.

The QuikTrip employee advised officers observing the youngest child bleeding from head wounds.

Officials spoke with the woman who said Gonzalez ran her over with his pickup after an argument while she was holding their 14-month-old son.

The child suffered several lacerations to the face and head, police said. The other two children, 9 and 7 years old, were uninjured.

All three of the children and the mother were transported to an area hospital for observation.

Police said they later located Gonzalez, arrested him and took him in for questioning.

He faces charges of child abuse with intent of serious injury and domestic assault with a dangerous weapon. source
