WYOMING, MI. (THECOUNT) — Missing Michigan woman, Tracy Cashman, has been found dead in a frigid pond at a park in Wyoming, Michigan, according to police.
Cashman, 38, who had been reported missing on Saturday night, was found dead at Battjes Park, on Blandford Avenue in Southwest, Wyoming, MI, which is near Grand Rapids, according to police.
The Kent County Medical Examiner has concluded that Cashman, an employee at Godfrey-Lee Public Schools, had accidentally fallen through the ice while attempting to rescue her dog after it had fallen into the pond during a walk, the reports said.
Upon arrival, Wyoming police and fire personnel observed Cashman’s body in the pond. Firefighters performed a cold water rescue, however, Cashman was already deceased, the release reads. source
An autopsy is scheduled for the morning of Monday, Dec. 10.
Godfrey-Lee Public Schools posted a notice of Cashman’s death on social media along with a note of condolences to her family, students and co-workers in the district.
