SWANTON, OH. (THECOUNT) — Swanton, Ohio father, Matt Cox, has gone mega-viral after forcing his 10-year-old daughter to walk 5 miles to school in near freezing conditions after she was ejected from her school bus for allegedly “bullying,” a fellow student.
Cox says he hopes the harsh lesson will stop his daughter from doing it again but many on social are criticizing him saying the punishment was too harsh, while questioning the father’s motives for indelibly posting the video to Facebook.
Cox posted a video to Facebook which shows his daughter walking “five miles to school in 36-degree weather,” according to the father.
“I know a lot of you parents are not going to agree with this and that’s alright,” he said in the video. “I am doing what I think is right to teach my “beautiful” daughter a lesson to stop her from bullying.” source
Cox said he has received both support and criticism over the video, which has more than 20 million views.
His daughter, Kirsten, said she’s learned her lesson, according to local reports.
Swanton is a town in Fulton and Lucas counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 3,690 at the 2010 census, according to Wikipedia.
