Police said they were called to Liu’s residence on the 13800 block of Holly Lynn Lane on Friday to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival police observed a decapitated youth lying on the garage floor partially covered by a plastic bag, according to authorities.

The boy’s father advised police that when he left for work that morning his son was still alive.

The father said he later arrived home and asked Liu as to the whereabouts of their 5-year-old son. Liu advised him she had “sent him away,” but later confessed to the gruesome murder after the father located the boy decapitated in a trash can inside the home.

The father walked to the trash can and found his son wrapped in a plastic bag. When he pulled his son out, he also noticed his head was decapitated. source

Liu was taken in custody by Houston police and placed on a no-bond order. She was expected to face a judge Saturday night but failed to appear due to “medical reasons,” according to records.

Houston Police identified Liu as the suspect on Twitter:

During a police interview, Liu confessed to killing her son by drowning him in a bathtub.

She refused to discuss reasons for decapitating the boy with authorities.

A murder weapon was located in the bathroom area of the home and subsequently tested positive for blood residue. There was blood also found in the bathtub.

It is unknown when Liu will appear in court and her current ‘medical condition’ was not provided by authorities.
