GATLINBURG, TN. (THECOUNT) — Wanda Strunk of Oneida, Tennessee, has been identified as the victim killed after a pickup truck went off US-441 and landed in the river 40 feet below at a bridge near the entrance to Chimneys Picnic Area.
Strunk, 62, died after a pickup truck exited the roadway and plunged 40 feet into a river below in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, in Gatlinburg, TN, Saturday morning, according to officials.
According to park rangers, the crash occurred around 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning near Newfound Gap.

Park Rangers, along with the park’s technical search and rescue team, Sevier County Rescue Squad, Gatlinburg Fire Department, and the Gatlinburg Police Department responded to the scene.
