FL Family Searching For Carla Stefaniak After Tampa Woman Goes Missing In Costa Rica

TAMPA, FL. (THECOUNT) — #ShareSquad: Florida woman, Carla Stefaniak, has gone missing in Costa Rica, according to justice officials in the Central American nation.

Stefaniak, 36, was reported missing Wednesday after recently traveling to Costa Rica, according to Federal investigators.

Stefaniak had reportedly been staying at a villa she discovered on popular vacation rental website Airbnb.

Her family members last heard from her at 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to a GoFundMe page. They grew concerned after she didn’t show up for a 1 p.m. flight Wednesday. Continue reading

NH Man Adrian Bunker Killed During Thursday ME Police-Involved “Armed Confrontation”

OLD TOWN, ME. (THECOUNT) — Adrian Bunker, of Merrimack, New Hampshire, has been identified as the suspect shot and killed by an Old Town, Maine, police officer during a traffic stop Thursday.

Bunker, 37, was killed by Old Town officer, Joseph Decoteau, early Thursday morning following an “armed confrontation” during a traffic stop in the 800 block of Stillwater Avenue, in Old Town, Maine.

Decoteau is on paid administrative leave pending a review by the department, according to police.

Officer Joseph Decoteau ordered Adrian Bunker, 37, of Merrimack, New Hampshire, to pull over his gray Silverado pickup truck around 3:20 a.m. According to the police department, the “armed confrontation” that ensued resulted in Bunker’s death. Continue reading

AZ Deputy U.S. Marshal Shot And Killed Thursday While Serving Tucson Arrest Warrant

TUCSON, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Ryan Schlesinger has been identified as the suspect accused of shooting and killing a deputy U.S. marshal in Tucson, Arizona, Thursday evening.

Schlesinger, 26, opened fire, killing the unidentified deputy U.S. marshal, who was serving a felony arrest warrant at a Tucson house.

The suspect was uninjured in the incident and was arrested after a standoff at the residence.

The Marshals Service says the federal agent was the first deputy U.S. marshal to be killed in the line of duty in Tucson in 66 years.

Magnus said the Marshals Service was serving a warrant against 26-year-old Ryan Schlesinger when the suspect fired at them. Marshal Service personnel returned fire, but the suspect was not wounded. Continue reading

NC Man Arrested Murder After Intentionally Strikes Burlington Motorcyclist With Vehicle Thursday

BURLINGTON, NC. (THECOUNT) — Eric Sonny Nuñez is charged with second-degree murder after allegedly striking and killing a man with his vehicle Thursday afternoon in Burlington, North Carolina, over an unpaid debt, according to police.

Nuñez is charged with second-degree murder after ramming a motorcyclist Thursday at around 1:15 p.m., in the 1700 block of Piedmont Way, in Burlington, NC.

Darwin Deon Graves, 41, suffered traumatic injuries after being struck in the roadway.

He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the collision.

Investigators learned that Graves had a verbal dispute with Nuñez over an unresolved debt shortly before the fatal crash.

Graves left the argument on a motorcycle.

According to police, Nuñez followed Graves in a small SUV. In the 1700 block of Piedmont Way, Nuñez intentionally hit Graves’ motorcycle from behind with his vehicle. Graves and his motorcycle then ran into the back of a van in front of Graves. Continue reading

IL Man Michael Cessna ID’d As Victim In Thursday Virgil Route 64 SUV-Vs-Semi Crash

VIRGIL, IL. (THECOUNT) — Michael Cessna, of Sycamore, IL, has been identified as the victims of a two-vehicle crash on Illinois 64 in Virgil, IL, on Thursday.

Cessna, 61, was traveling eastbound, when for unknown reasons, his Chevrolet Silverado crossed centerlines and crashed into a westbound semi-truck.

The truck driver, John Lantz, 54, of Rockford, escaped the crash with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police do not know why Cessna’s Chevrolet veered into oncoming traffic.

KY Boyd County Detention Center Inmate Found Dead In Catlettsburg Jail Thursday Identified As Michael Moore

CATLETTSBURG, KY. (THECOUNT) — Michael Moore has been identified as the Boyd County Detention Center inmate found dead Thursday morning.

Moore, 40, was found deceased after being booked into the jail for public intoxication.

Jail officials stated that there were no obvious signs of foul play.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

TX Man Antonio Aguilar Arrested In 2017 For Firing On GF’s Vehicle Now Wanted Attempted Murder DPS Officer

NACOGDOCHES, TX (THECOUNT) — Antonio Aguilar, of Center, TX, has been identified as the suspect wanted by police after fleeing a traffic stop and shooting at a Texas DPS vehicle on Wednesday afternoon.

Aguilar, 28, is wanted for attempted capital murder has been issued a $5 million no-bail bond.

According to DPS officials, a trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Cadillac SUV at about 1:40 Wednesday afternoon on FM699. The driver of the SUV fled from the trooper.

After a short distance, the Aguilar reportedly stopped his SUV and backed it into the DPS patrol vehicle, causing “substantial damage,” according to reports.

The trooper shot at the vehicle during the incident. The suspect then grabbed his own rifle in the Cadillac and fired it at the trooper’s vehicle, striking the windshield of the marked DPS vehicle.

Aguilar then fled the scene.

The trooper was not injured during the harrowing incident.

“Aguilar is described as a Hispanic male, five foot ten inches tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He has short brown hair and brown eyes,” stated DPS in a press release. Continue reading

TN Teen Morgan Goldman ID’d As Victim In Wednesday Calhoun Triple-Fatal Crash

MCMINN, TN. (THECOUNT) — Morgan Goldman has been named as one of three victims killed in a two-vehicle crash in McMinn County Wednesday afternoon.

Goldman, 18, as well as a five year old, and one and a half year old were killed in the crash that occurred shortly after 3:15 pm. on Old Highway 11 in Calhoun.

Three people were killed and another person injured in a two car crash in McMinn County Wednesday.
