MO Hunter ID’d As Victim In Saturday Fatal Lewistown Friendly Fire Shooting Accident

LEWISTOWN, MO. (THECOUNT) — Randell J. Reising, of Arnold, Missouri, has been identified as the victim killed after authorities say a fellow hunter accidentally shot him early Saturday morning.

Reising, 52, died early Saturday after being shot by his hunting partner, later identified as, Steven A. Lewis, according to authorities.

The sheriff’s office stated deputies were called to 19920 State Highway Y, in Lewistown, MO, around 4 a.m. Saturday morning. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Reising suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of gunfire by the Lewis County coroner.

The Sheriff’s Office stated it appears Reising was in a hunting cabin with friends preparing for the morning hunt when he was shot by fellow hunter and friend Stephen Lewis, 50, of Arnold, Missouri. source

Police stated they will continue to investigate.
