NASHVILLE, TN. (THECOUNT) — Quincy L. Brown, of Nashville, has been identified as the victim found suffering from a gunshot wound near South 6th Street and Sylvan Street in Nashville Saturday night.
Brown, 19, has since passed away from his injuries in an area hospital after being shot in the head Saturday night on Dew St, in East Nashville around 7 p.m.
Metro Nashville police officers responded to a call of “shots fired” in the 600 block of Dew Street. Upon arrival, Brown was found lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the head.
Following the shooting, two suspects were witnessed fleeing the scene.
Detectives say they recovered a handgun in the area and believe it was used in the shooting.
Witnesses told police that just before the shooting, Brown had engaged in an argument near South 6th Street and Sylvan Street before leaving the area with a friend. A little while later, two male black suspects approached them and started shooting, hitting Brown. His friend ran away from the gunmen and was not injured. source
Police said their investigation into the incident is ongoing.
