NASHVILLE, TN. (THECOUNT) — Mark Bilbrey has been identified as the victim killed in a single-vehicle crash near Interstate 40 in west Nashville early Tuesday morning.
Bilbrey, 39, was operating a 2005 Subaru Forester, when for unknown reasons, exited the roadway, causing the vehicle to roll over and collide with a culvert and a concrete support columns of the I-40 overpass while traveling on Hapwood Dr, near Davidson Dr, in Nashville, TN, Tuesday.
Bilbrey was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries suffered in the violent collision.
A crash report noted that the victim was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the fatal incident.
Police said drugs nor alcohol played a factor in the crash.
Authorities say the crash occurred just after midnight on Davidson Drive near Hapwood Drive, likely during heavy rain. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the driver left the right side of the road, collided with a culvert and then hit one of the concrete support columns for the I-40 overpass. The driver of the 2005 Subaru Forester, identified by police as 39-year-old Mark Bilbrey, was pronounced dead at the scene. source
