HUNTSVILLE, MO. (THECOUNT) — Kayla Cox, of Salisbury, and her passenger, John Birmingham, of Bucklin, have been identified as the victims in a double-fatal US-24 crash in central Missouri Sunday night.
Cox, 31, and her passenger, 47-year-old Birmingham, were killed Sunday night in a head-on crash near Moberly, which is about 35 miles north of Columbia.
Cox was operating an SUV on US-24, when for unknown reasons, crossed centerlines, and struck a pickup truck head-on.
The Missouri Highway Patrol says the crash happened Sunday night when a sport utility vehicle crossed the centerlines of U.S. 24 and struck a pickup truck south of the Randolph County town of Huntsville. The area is near Moberly, about 140 miles northwest of St. Louis and about 35 miles north of Columbia. source
The victims in the SUV were pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the violent crash.
The driver of the truck suffered moderate injuries.
