STANHOPE, NJ. (THECOUNT) — Jennifer Francisco has been named as the pedestrian struck and killed by a 17-year-old driver near the Crunch health club in Stanhope Friday night.
Francisco, 43, was struck by the teen driver as she attempted to cross the roadway near Crunch, located at, 110 NJ-183, in Stanhope, NJ, during a heavy downpour Friday.
The Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office said they believed poor light and weather were contributing factors in the collision.
Francisco was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the collision.
Jennifer Francisco was hit in front of the American Legion on Route 183 by a sedan driven by a 17-year-old, police said. The road was close for several hours as authorities investigated. source
The prosecutor said they do not anticipate any charges being filed against the 17-year-old driver in the case and consider it closed, however, anyone with possible additional information on the collision may contact police at 911.
