Waubeka Asst Fire Chief Bruce Koehler ID’d As WI Victim In Friday Farmington Motorcycle Crash

WAUBEKA, WI. (THECOUNT) — Assistant Fire Chief Bruce Koehler, of the Waubeka Fire Department, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Friday.

Koehler, of Fredonia, whose age was not provided, was operating a motorcycle, when for unknown reasons, exited the roadway and was critically injured in a resulting crash. He was travelling on Highway H, east of Highway M in the Town of Farmington at around 8:10 p.m., when the wreck occurred.

Koehler was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the crash.

The Waubeka Fire Department shared the following message on their Facebook page:

“It is with very heavy hearts & deep regret that the Waubeka Fire Department must announce the passing of Assistant Fire Chief Bruce Koehler.

Bruce Koehler passed away yesterday from a fatal motorcycle accident.

Please keep the Koehler family in your thoughts and prayers as they cope with this difficult time.” source

Waubeka is an unincorporated census-designated place in the town of Fredonia, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, United States, in the Milwaukee-Waukesha metro area. As of the 2010 census, its population is 657. It was named for an Indian chief, whose name means “metallic substance,” according to Wikipedia.
