DAVENPORT, IA. (THECOUNT) — Ricardo Bernal, of Davenport, IA, has been identified as the victim in a fatal River Drive crash in Davenport on Sunday.

Bernal, 45, was operating a Dodge Durango, when for unknown reason, exited the roadway and crash into the bridge owned by the railroad.

Officials responded to a call a single-vehicle crash near 1800 East River Drive, in Davenport, IA, around 10:22 p.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, officers determined the Dodge had been traveling eastbound before exiting the roadway and striking the bridge, say officials.

Bernal was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the collision.
