WASHINGTON, DC. (THECOUNT) — Tala Farea, 16 and her older sister Rotana Farea, 22, have identified two young Virginia women found dead along the Hudson River on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
The sisters went missing from their Fairfax home on Aug. 24, according to the New York City Police Department.
Their bodies were found on Wednesday afternoon duct-taped together near West 68th Street in New York City’s Riverside Park. A police source suggested the women hadn’t been in the water for long, and their causes of death were still being investigated on Saturday morning. source
The victims were found unconscious and unresponsive, and there was no obvious signs of trauma.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
