ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — JennaRae Goodbar, of Lexington, VA, has been identified as the young girl struck and killed by a vehicle while chasing the family dog into the street
Goodbar, 12, was struck and killed by a vehicle after she entered the roadway in an attempt to capture the family dog who had bolted on West Midland Trail, in Lexington, VA, on Saturday.
Police responded to calls of a child versus vehicle in the 3000 block of Midland Trail around 2:25 p.m. Saturday.
Upon arrival, first responders found a victim suffering from blunt force trauma after colliding with a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu.
Goodbar was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
