CHESTERTON, IN. (THECOUNT) — Carlo Garza, of Brownsville, has been identified as the victim killed early Friday after his car struck a large boulder at the entrance to the Indiana Dunes State Park.
Garza, 32, was operating a Nissan Altima at a high rate of speed when he exited the roadway and struck a large rock on the shoulder around 12:33 a.m. Friday.
Garza was pronounced dead on the scene from blunt force injuries, according to a coroner press release.
Porter County Coroner Chuck Harris identified the man as Carlo Garza, 32, of Brownsville, Texas. The Porter County coroner’s office responded to the state park at 12:33 a.m. Friday. source
Toxicology results are pending.
Porter County Sheriff’s Department said the crash investigation is ongoing.
