BOISE, ID. (THECOUNT) — Sam Willie Jr., has been identified as the pedestrian killed after being struck by a vehicle in a Boise neighborhood Wednesday night.
The collision happened just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of Vista Avenue and West Targee Street, in Boise, Idaho.
According to Boise Police, a female driver was traveling north on Vista Ave, when she struck a male pedestrian in the intersection.
The victim was later identified as 58-year-old Willie.
He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma consistent with the collision.
There is a traffic light at that intersection, but police have not said whether the driver had a green or red light. The Boise Police Crash Reconstruction Team is working to investigate the wreck. source
The female driver remained on the scene following the fatal incident. She is cooperating with police. No charges have been filed as the death has been ruled an accident.
