ST PAUL, MN. (THECOUNT) — Eddie Cortez Smith, of St. Paul, MN, has been identified as the man found suffering from at least one gunshot wound Wednesday night.
Smith, 40, was killed in a shooting Wednesday night on the 800 block of Rice Street, in Saint Paul, MN.
Police reported they were called to the scene around 11 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a man shot. At the scene, officers found Cortez with a gunshot wound, as well as two handguns.
The department provided the identification in a tweet Friday. A suspect, Dewayne Anthony Ivory, was arrested in connection to the shooting Thursday. source
Cortez was transported to an area hospital where he later passed away and was pronounced dead by hospital clergy.
