MORNINGSIDE, MD. (THECOUNT) — First Lady Melania Trump’s plane was abruptly returned to Andrews Air Force Base Wednesday morning after experiencing mechanical issues, reports say.
Light smoke and a burning smell prompted the plane to turn around shortly after takeoff. Reporters on board were given wet towels to cover their faces if the smell become too strong.
Trump was en route to Philadelphia to meet with families of children who were affected by exposure to opioids while in the womb. Officials said her visit will still take place, but will likely be delayed. source
