CHATHAM COUNTY, NC. – Eddie Tapia, from Burlington, has been identified as the pedestrian struck and killed while attempting to cross US 421 Sunday.
Troopers are looking for a hit-and-run driver after Tapia. 30, was killed in Chatham County by a vehicle Sunday morning at about 6 a.m., according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the driver did not stop after striking the victim.
Deputies said the hit-and-run vehicle is believed to be a passenger vehicle, but that is all the information that’s currently available. source
Tapia was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the collision.
