KILL DEVIL HILLS, NC. (THECOUNT) — A State of Emergency was declared Friday morning for the Town of Kill Devil Hills, NC, after the impact of Tropical Storm Michael has left the area with an influx of snakes and dislodged and now floating propane tanks.
Town officials urge residents to stay inside.

Officials say there is debris along roadways, propane tanks floating in storm water, and snakes that have come up with the flood waters.
Impacts are the worst on the soundside portions of the Town, officials said Friday. Signal lights are not operational along US 158 and NC 12 due to power outages. source
Emergency response staff will begin clearing debris and recording damage when the sun comes up.
Kill Devil Hills is a town in Dare County, North Carolina. The population was 6,683 at the 2010 census, up from 5,897 in 2000. It is the most populous settlement in both Dare County and on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, according to Wikipedia.
