GERMANTOWN, MD. (THECOUNT) — Northwest High School student, Joshua Snyder, has been identified as the teenager killed in a crash on southbound Interstate 270 Wednesday afternoon.
Snyder, a senior student, was driving a silver Buick Century on I-270 when the fatal crash occurred.
Snyder veered into the left and on the left shoulder and rear-ended an unattended white Ford Box Truck that was parked on the left shoulder.
Jimmy D’Andrea, principal of Northwest High School in Germantown, posted a tweet Wednesday night identifying the student as Josh Snyder.
“He was a very kind, hard-working individual who had a positive impact on all of those around him, and he will be deeply missed,” he wrote. D’Andrea said a support team of counselors will be at the school Thursday to provide support to students. source
Snyder was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the collision.
Alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in the crash, police say.
