AR Victims ID’d In Wednesday Triple-Fatal Neosho MO School Bus-Involved Crash

NEAR NEOSHO, MO. (THECOUNT) — Jordon Pospichal, 19, of Hasty, AR., Waylon Collins, 21, Western Grove, AR., and Austin Thomas, 21, of Harrison, AR., have been identified as the victims in a triple-fatal crash near Neosho, MO., Wednesday evening.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports three died in a crash involving a Neosho School District school bus in a crash occurring east of Neosho on State Highway HH around 4 p.m.

The patrol says Jordon Pospichal, 19, of Hasty, Ark., Waylon Collins, 21, Western Grove, Ark., and Austin Thomas, 21, of Harrison, Ark. died in the crash. All of the victims were in a pickup truck that hit the bus. Two of the four people on the bus suffered minor injuries. The school district says those injuries are just bumps and bruises. source

Investigators say Thomas failed to stop at a stop sign, hitting the bus broadside. Both vehicles traveled off the left side of the road and overturned. The bus came to rest on the truck.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Neosho School District released the following statement on the fatal wreck:

We were recently made aware of an accident involving one of our buses at the intersection of H and HH. Emergency and school personnel are currently on the scene. Two students, a bus aide, and bus driver were onboard when another vehicle struck the bus. There are some bumps and bruises but we are grateful to report no major injuries for our students and team who were on the bus. We do not have information as to the other vehicle or its passengers.

This is all we know at this time but we will work with law enforcement to keep our community in the loop as information comes available.
