PRICHARD, AL. (THECOUNT) – The Alabama father killed in an early morning house fire that also claimed the lives his two teenage daughters, in Prichard’s Eight Mile community, has been identified as Michael A. Allen.
Firefighters were called to a home on Weisbrod Avenue, in Prichard, AL, just before 1 a.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Upon arrival, first responders learned three people had escaped the house, while three others did not emerge.
Allen, 38, and his girls, 15 and 17, passed away in the blaze.
Both girls students at Mattie T Blount High School.
Investigators said a family of six was in the house when the fire started. Three escaped but the three others were unable to get out and died.source
Lt. Martin said Allen’s wife and two younger daughters were able to escape the fire.
Fire officials said the dwelling was a total loss.
Officials are working to determine the caught of the blaze, but they believe it may have started in the kitchen.
