FORT WORTH, TX. (THECOUNT) — At least 50 Fort Worth police officers responded to a call of shots fired about midnight at Vaquero Sports Bar at 403 W. Biddison St., after a Fort Worth officer was shot.
The officer is currently in the intensive care unit in critical condition.
The shooting followed an armed robbery early Friday morning at the sports bar, police said.
Officers had been conducting surveillance on three individuals when the individuals went into the sports bar and conducted a robbery, Britt said.
They left the bar and officers confronted the individuals in the 3500 block of May Street and the individuals fled on foot, Britt said. One of the individuals had a weapon and fired at officers, Britt said.
Officers returned fire, killing the shooter at the scene. The second individual, who was a woman, was arrested, Britt said. The third individual fled into the neighborhood and officers located and arrested them, Britt said. source
The injured officer was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital.
