VA Man Travis Whitley ID’d As Victim In Fatal Wednesday James River Boating Accident

HENRICO COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Travis Whitley, of Colonial Heights, VA., has been identified as the boater who died while visiting James River.

Whitley, 29, died after Henrico Police and Fire crews responded to Osborne Park & Boat Landing James River State Park, Gladstone, VA, along the 9500 block of Osborne Turnpike, just before 7 p.m. Wednesday after someone reported Whitley had not returned to shore.

Police have identified a boater whose body was pulled from the James River as 29-year-old Travis L. Whitley from Colonial Heights. source

Whitley’s body was recovered Thursday, one day after he was reported missing on the James River.

Anyone with information on the fatal incident should contact police at 911.
