RALEIGH, NC. (THECOUNT) — Neri Damian Cruz-Carmona, has been identified as the suspect arrested a fatal motorcycle crash in Raleigh early Sunday morning.

Cruz-Carmona, 26, has been charged with felony hit and run causing serious injury/death, after colliding with motorcyclist, Jamar Rashaun Beach of Raleigh.

Police earlier said they were searching Saturday for the driver of a car that fled the scene after crashing into a motorcycle. The accident occurred about 12:45 a.m. on New Hope Church Road between Atlantic Avenue and Green Road, police said.

Authorities identified the motorcycle rider that was struck as Jamar Rashaun Beach of Raleigh. According to the police report, the Honda was turning left onto Bonneville Court from New Hope Church Road. The Honda crashed into the motorcycle, which was traveling westbound on New Hope Church Road, when the Honda driver failed to yield the right of way. source

Beach died as a result of the crash, according to the police report.

The driver of the Honda, Cruz-Carmona, fled from the scene, but the vehicle was located a short time later.

Cruz-Carmona was being held at the Wake County Detention Center on Sunday.
