LINCOLN, NE. (THECOUNT) — Zachary Francke has been identified as the Lincoln tree trimmer electrocuted while on the job Wednesday afternoon.
Lincoln Police named, Francke, 36, as the man killed while attempting to remove a fallen tree limb Wednesday. During the process, an electrocution occurred which in turn set the tree on fire.
LPD said Zachary Francke, 36, was killed when he a limb fell on an electrical line and he tried to remove it. Lincoln Fire and Rescue said they were called to the 2300 block of South 39th Street around 3 p.m., on a call of a possible electrocution. source
The tree was set ablaze during the incident.
When first responders arrived, they located Francke deceased – still perched in the tree.
He was brought down from the location after crews shutdown the power lines or “de-energized,” LFR said.
