WINSTON-SALEM, NC. (THECOUNT) — Michaela Pearson, the Winston-Salem woman charged with felony child abuse at the end of August over a video depicting three young kids being allowed to smoke a blunt, has received the maximum sentence allowed under the law, which is 300 days in prison.
Pearson was arrested on August 28th after a video surfaced on Facebook showing three children smoking what was eventually deemed to be an illegal substance, police say.
Pearson was facing three felony counts of child abuse and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Police say Little and Pearson were arrested on the 2100 block of Peters Creek Parkway around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. source
Various items of drug paraphernalia were found during the arrest, police reported.
Another other woman also seen in the video and charged in the case, Candice Little, is due in court on Nov. 9.
