BACKUS, MN. (THECOUNT) — PaNhia Yang has been identified as the Sheboygan, Wisconsin drowning victim who died while visiting Ponto Lake in Backus, Minnesota.
Yang, 37, was found unresponsive in the water on Aug. 18 while swimming. CPR was performed and she was airlifted to St. Cloud hospital.
Yang was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The victim was removed from the water and CPR and lifesaving efforts were performed. The victim was transferred to an Air Care helicopter and transported to St. Cloud, where she died Aug. 19. source
Assisting the sheriff’s office at the scene were Backus First Responders, North Memorial Ambulance, North Memorial Air Care and the Minnesota State Patrol.
