OLDHAM COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Selena Gilbert, from Wallins Creek, and Tamara Mefford, from Brookside, have been identified by officials as the victims in Wednesday’s crash on Interstate 71 in Oldham County.
Police identified Gilbert, 18, and Mefford, 20, as those killed in the violent crash. TC Somersall, 17, of Cumberland, was listed in critical condition. Another passenger in the car is also at the hospital. Her name nor condition were released because of her age.
When first responders arrived on-scene they found the driver trapped inside and three other passengers who had been ejected from the vehicle.
Gilbert and Medford were pronounced dead at the scene.
The occupants were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. source
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
