CROWN HEIGHTS, NY. (THECOUNT) — Two people were shot outside near the office of a state senator, Jesse Hamilton, in Brooklyn, police say.
The incident happened Thursday around 7:30 p.m. outside the office of state Sen. Jesse Hamilton (D) near Montgomery Street and Rogers Avenue in Crown Heights.
Hamilton took to Twitter shortly after the shooting to write, “A shooting just occurred right by my campaign office, my staff feared for their lives. The bullets were so close, thank God no one was injured.” source
A 16-year-old and a 31-year-old were both shot in the back and arms.
Police say the 16-year-old was transported to Kings County Hospital, and the 31-year-old rode a bicycle to Lutheran Hospital to seek treatment.
Both shooting victims were in stable condition upon arrival, according to police.
